Sailor is an 18-year-old Percheron Standardbred cross gelding who has worked closely with the public for nine years. He weighs about 1,500 to 1,600 pounds and is about 16 hands tall. Due to arthritis in his left shoulder, his veterinarian recommends he not work as much as he has been.

Sailor is being retired from Slate Run Metro Farm. He is not a trail horse but can be ridden. He could also pull a small wagon.

If you want to visit Sailor, there is regularly someone available at the farm who can show him. If you want to see him hitched, it would be best to make an appointment just to make sure someone is in who could help. You can call the farm at (614) 833-1880 for an appointment.

Sailor's new adoptive person will be responsible for transport to his new home. Adoption cannot be finalized until after March 13, 2018.
